OlympusOlympus E-3 digital SLR camera : Olympus released their E-3 flagship SLR camera, as a latest addition to its Four Thirds System. The Olympus E-3 gives semi and pro photographers a high-performance tool that satisfies the most stringent demands for D-SLR photography. The new Olympus SLR camera represents the ultimate choice for photographers and provides great image quality and the highest levels of speed, as well as Live View capabilities. The Olympus E3 incorporates world’s fastest auto focusing speeds thanks to its AF system and new Zuiko Digital SWD lenses. The Olympus E-3 gives photographers a crucial edge to help capture that decisive shot with shutter speeds of up to 1/8000th sec. and 5fps sequential shooting!
Olympus image stabilization
The Olympus E3 DSLR camera features a 10 Megapixel High Speed Live MOS sensor and Olympus’ TruePic III image processing engine. Furthermore, the professional Olympus E3 incorporates a highly advanced built-in image stabilization system to compensate the effects of camera shake to the equivalent of up to 5 EV steps. The image stabilization is very effective and utilizes the Supersonic Wave Drive (SWD). The IS system features two modes: One for shakes along both the x and y axes, while another stabilizes only the y axis; ideal for sports photography. Sharper shots every time, together with the custom-made Zuiko Digital lenses photographers can rely on accurate and high quality results!

Olympus E3 DSLR - Auto focus system
The auto focus system of the Olympus E-3 is based on a fully-biaxial high-speed 11-point AF system with horizontal and vertical sensor lines to give a total of 44 different data points from which the correct focus is accurately calculated. In addition, pixel multiplication technologies are used to perform better in low light situations (-2EV at ISO 100).

Olympus Live View
With the Live View capabilities of the Olympus E3 you are able to shoot with much more versatility: keeping eye-contact with the subject or shooting close to the ground or above the head; compositions can easily be framed on the 2.5” multi-angle HyperCrystal LCD, which accurately displays the effect of camera adjustments in real time.

Olympus E3 reflex camera - Viewfinder
Photographers can also choose to use the camera’s large viewfinder which provides 100% coverage. The Olympus E-3 incorporates the best dust reduction system available; the Supersonic Wave Filter. Both the camera body and most E-system lenses offer great reliability thanks to dust and splashproof protection.

Olympus E-3 Price & Availability
With the E-3, Olympus answers the demand for uncompromising endurance, speed and image quality. The camera body only will be available for approximately 2250 USD, the kit with the 14-54mm lens for approximately 3000 USD and the kit with the new 12-60mm lens for approximately 3500 USD. The professional E3 camera will commence sales at the end of November 2007.
