NikonNikon Coolpix P5100 : The Nikon Coolpix Performance Series was designed with camera lovers in mind. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 is available in basic black with a classic camera ‘look’. Features that make this a classic camera are the optical viewfinder, stable grip and a functional body design. The magnesium alloy body of the Nikon P5100 provides ruggedness and high-quality texture, with an upgraded Mode dial and other controls. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 offers 12.1 effective Megapixels of resolution, Nikon’s new and innovative EXPEED digital image processing concept and a 3.5x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with optical lens shift VR image stabilization that limits blur and provides the equivalent of a faster shutter speed.

The new Nikon P5100 Performance camera also offers High-Sensitivity mode, which automatically selects the optimal light sensitivity setting to further prevent blurred shots when shooting in lower light, or when capturing fast-moving subjects. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 offers up to 3200 ISO (ISO 3200 is available only for image sizes of 5MP [2592 x 1944] or smaller). The Nikon Coolpix P5100 has both a large and bright 2.5-inch LCD monitor with 170-degree viewing angle and an optical viewfinder, to help photographers achieve accurate composition in direct sunlight when an LCD monitor can be hard to read.

Nikon Coolpix P5100 digital camera - Face Detection and Advanced photography
Available on the Nikon P5100, Nikon’s face priority autofocus is faster than ever and can now detect up to 12 faces. It detects faces rapidly within the frames shot, measures the brightness of the person’s face and determines the best exposure. Nikon’s face-detection technology helps ensure that close up images of friends and family come out perfectly every time. The Nikon Coolpix P5100 advanced shooting modes include a choice of Programmed Auto (P), Shutter-priority Auto (S), Aperture-priority Auto (A) and Manual (M) for true creative control. A new feature, continuous flash, lets users continuously shoot up to 3 frames (1.0 fps) using the camera’s built-in flash. A user-friendly on-screen menu interface offers easy navigation and access to all functions.
