EISAFujifilm FinePix S5 Pro receives EISA Award : The Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro, a digital reflex camera from Fujifilm, has been chosen by the Electronic Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) as its European Advanced Camera 2007-2008. The statement from this renowned association of more than 50 trade journals across all of Europe gave the reasons: “One of the special features of the Super CCD SR Pro image sensor from Fujifilm used in the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro digital SLR camera is that it offers an extensive dynamic range with extremely low image noise and good contrast characteristics. This gives the Fujifilm d-SLR camera a particularly high value within the overall digital reflex camera market."

The statement of EISA continued with: "The casing of the Fuji FinePix S5 Pro is robust, pictures are easily edited and there are numerous flexible picture settings, together with an improved autofocus and extensive flash settings. A particular advantage of the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro that is worthy of mention is that it is in a position to display an extremely comprehensive color palette. These and other factors make it the winner in this category."

Fuji S5 Pro - Super CCD SR Pro sensor
The Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro comes equipped with a newly developed Super CCD SR Pro image sensor from Fujifilm. This is based on a honeycomb-shaped layout of the photodiodes, offering greater light output than conventional CCDs. The SR sensor captures information twice for every pixel – with an S and R pixel. While the S pixels construct a normal shot of the motif, the R pixels, with their lower sensitivity to light, reproduce image details in very bright areas of the image. The information from the S and R pixels is then combined into one picture with considerably improved detail capture. Well-known photographers have tested the FinePix S5 Pro and have been particularly impressed with the camera’s wide dynamic range.

EISA Award organisation
EISA (European Imaging and Sound Association) is an amalgamation of 50 photo and imaging magazines from 19 countries across the whole of Europe which votes for the “Best Photo and Imaging Products in Europe” each year.
