Acer LCD display market : Acer America Corporation, one of the leading worldwide suppliers of IT solutions, announced that they experienced exponential growth in the North American and worldwide LCD display market during the last year. According to year-on-year market share figures from DisplaySearch - when comparing Q1 2006 to Q1 2007 - the company showed a 60% increase in shipments in North America and a 50% increase worldwide. On a sequential basis, as many of the company’s nearest competitors’ market shares remained flat, Acer increased its total North American LCD shipments from Q4 2006 to Q1 2007 by more than 44% percent, continuing to grow its number 3 position in the region.

In North America the LCD market grew by only 11.4%, while Acer had almost three times the growth rate. Worldwide growth year-on-year increased 26%, while Acer saw almost double the result. “Acer’s overall expansion in the LCD market the last few years is undeniable,” said Chris Connery, vice president of market research for DisplaySearch. “With their impressive product range, strong channel and retail involvement, brand recognition and renewed commitment to the desktop PC marketplace, Acer is well positioned to continue to be a key player in the LCD display marketplace.”
