ToshibaToshiba sponsor of the Newport Beach Breakers : Toshiba America Business Solutions (TABS) announced that it has signed as a sponsor of the World TeamTennis (WTT) Newport Beach Breakers. The Breakers’ season will take place from July 5 to 25 at the new Breakers Stadium at Newport Beach Country Club. This team, operated by and benefiting Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and other notable Orange County charities, is part of the WTT Pro League. “We welcome Toshiba as an official sponsor of our World TeamTennis team, the Newport Beach Breakers,” said Jeff Purser, team executive director, Newport Beach Breakers. “We are looking forward to a successful season and are glad to have Toshiba’s support as an Orange County business leader.”

The 2007 season will feature marquee appearances by tennis champions and past Breakers team members such as Maria Sharapova, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, Venus Williams and Anna Kournikova. “TABS is honored to be the official copy, print and scan sponsor for the Newport Beach Breakers,” said Rick Taylor, president and chief executive officer, TABS. “We are always proud to contribute to charitable programs such as this that benefit worthy Orange County organizations like Hoag Hospital. On behalf of TABS, we wish the Breakers a great season.” The 2007 season marks the fifth year for the Newport Beach Breakers to play in the WTT Pro League, but the first operated by Hoag Hospital as a charitable endeavor. This year’s team will be led by coach Trevor Kronemann, who also is the coach for the men’s tennis team at University of California, Irvine. Playing for the Newport Beach Breakers this season will be Pete Sampras, Maria Sharapova, Michaela Pastikova, Rick Leach, Ramon Delgado and Lauren Albanese.

About the Newport Beach Breakers
The Newport Beach Breakers are one of 11 nationwide teams that make up World TeamTennis and co-owned by WTT founder, Billie Jean King. The Breakers will play seven home matches in July 2007 at Breakers Stadium, at Newport Beach Country Club. The team will be managed by Newport Beach-based Hoag Hospital Foundation through the 2009 WTT season. Profits from the team’s operations for the season will go towards Hoag Hospital, the Breakers’ primary benefactor. For tickets, sponsorship and more information on the Newport Beach Breakers.

Since its founding 32 years ago by Billie Jean King, World TeamTennis (WTT) has been reinventing the game of tennis. With fast-paced, family oriented matches complete with music, fans and all out fun, WTT brings the biggest stars and emerging players to compete in an innovated coed team format. WTT teams consist of two men, two women and a coach, with matches comprised of one set each of men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles. The 2007 season runs July 5 to 25 with the top two teams from both the Eastern and Western Conference advancing to the WTT Championship Weekend, July 27 to 29, in Roseville, California (united States).
