Steve's DigicamsPentax W30 review at Steves Digicams : Our good friends at Steves Digicams have published their review of the Pentax Optio W30 camera. The Pentax W30 is equipped with a 2.5-inch LCD monitor with an LCD Bright Mode that can adjust the brightness of the screen as necessary, making it easy to view the screen even outdoors, where there is strong sunlight. AR (Anti-Reflection) coating, which controls and reduces reflections caused by light, is also used for the monitor, making the screen be even more visible outdoors. Digital SR (Shake Reduction) mode that reduces camera shakes and blurring of the subject when photographing still images. The sensitivity is adjusted automatically, to as high as the ultrahigh sensitivity of ISO 3200.

Pentax Optio W30 - Design and Optical zoom
According to Steve Digicams: "The overall image quality of our samples was good for a 7-megapxiel consumer model. Outdoors, our images were sharp, showed nice exposure and good color saturation. Like many of the Pentax models we have reviewed recently, I did notice a bit of edge softness on many of our photos. We normally use the best quality settings available, but with this model we did capture many images in both the good and best quality modes. The difference is over 1MB in file size, which is due to the best images being less compressed, meaning they will show more detail."

Pentax W30 review conclusion - Steves Digicams
Steve continues: "Noise is an issue we must cover with almost every camera we test with manually selectable ISO settings. You can choose from ISO 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, or even 3200. Check out our samples page, ISO 200 and below show average amounts of noise while ISO 400 and above start to show a lot of noise. We found it best is to leave the ISO set to Auto, as it does well at keeping the sensitivity as low as possible. If not used properly the ISOs of 1600 and 3200 can create quite a bit of noise." About Steve's Digicams Online
Steve's Digicams was founded in the year 1997, by, indeed, Steve. Steve Sanders is well experienced in photography, 30 years, and wants to share this experience with everyone on the Internet. Steve's motto is: simplicity. The way the website is build makes it also possible for those who haven't got a fast connection to download the website very quickly. In the same way the reviews are being written. According to Steve, it should not be necessary to follow a course in photography to be able to understand a review. For this approach Steve is well known world wide and he is welcome to it by his many readers. Beside test reports Steve's site has various other items, like a forum, camera specifications, daily "breaking" news.
