 Copa America 2007 sponsored by Casio : Casio Computer has signed an agreement with Conmebol, the South American Football Association, to become an official sponsor of Copa America 2007 Venezuela and Copa Nissan Sudamericana, two of the largest events in Latin American Football. Casio is an official sponsor of both events for the following products categories: timepieces, calculators, digital cameras and musical instruments. Copa America, the premier event in Latin American football and the world’s oldest international football competition, will be held in Venezuela between June 26 and July 15, 2007. In addition to the 10 national teams from Conmebol, Copa America 2007 will also feature Mexico and the USA as invited teams.

 Casio special consumer campaigns
The Copa Nissan Sudamericana will see 34 club teams from 11 - 12 countries in the Americas play off against each other between August 5 and December 6, 2007. Games will be held in 22 cities across 11 - 12 countries. As an official sponsor of both of these tournaments, Casio’s logo will be featured prominently at the tournament venues, as well as on official publications and websites. In addition, Casio will be providing tournament referees with its Referee Watches, as well as providing digital cameras to the Copa America National Organizing Committee. Casio will also be conducting special consumer campaigns and in-store promotions throughout Latin America.

These latest sponsorship agreements continue Casio’s support of international football. Casio was the official Licensee for the product category Clocks and Watches at the FIFA World Cup in 1994, 1998, and 2006. Casio is excited to become a sponsor of the biggest Latin American football events, and to share its love with some of the most passionate fans in the world.

Copa America, the South American national team championship was founded in 1916 and is the oldest national team soccer competition in the world. The champion represents the region at the FIFA Confederations Cup. Copa America 2007 will be played in Venezuela on June 26 - July 15, 2007 and will be broadcast to over 180 countries. The national teams of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela will be playing in this year’s tournament.
About Copa Nissan Sudamericana
Copa Nissan Sudamericana is the South American soccer club championship for the second semester of each year. The tournament includes top teams from each of the 10 South American soccer Federations and three invited teams from the Concacaf region. The 2007 competition will be played from August 5 – December 6, 2007 and will be broadcast to over 70 countries. The champion of the Copa Nissan Sudamericana plays against the champion of the Copa Libertadores in the Recopa Sudamericana to determine which team is the best in Latin America.
