Olympus SP550 UZ - Megazoom
According to Mark Goldstein: "The Olympus SP-550 UZ has 8 ISO settings from 50-5000. noise starts to appear very visibly upwards of ISO 800, and at ISO 1600 detail is noticeably being lost and images take on an impressionistic, painterly appearance. Why then Olympus has gone on to shoehorn in even higher ISO 3200 and ISO 5000 options – with a resultant drop in resolution – mystifies, though the suspicion is that it’s only to beef up the spec list. Here are some 100% crops which show the noise levels for each ISO setting."

Olympus SP550 camera - Housing quality
Mark continues: "Build quality is however good given its mainly plastic frame – the camera is solidly fashioned, attractively finished, and with batteries inserted feels capable of withstanding a few knocks in the heat of the action. The necessary unfurling of that zoom lens however does slow down responsiveness." You want to learn more about the Olympus SP550 digital camera? About PhotographyBLOG
Mark Goldstein started his very active website PhotographyBLOG in January 2003. At first the one and only purpose was to let this site function as one of those popular web logs with Photography as main topic. But as we all know Photography is a pretty big subject to publish about so Mark decided to focus on some hot key points like mentioning all new introductions, reviews, reports from events like PMA and Photokina, sharing some impressive and creative photos and Mark's sole perspective of his feeling about this fascinating world of Digital Imaging. Mark is based in the UK, but his eagle-eye focuses global.
