Canon Ixus 900 Ti review at PhotographyBLOG : DIWA member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBLOG has reviewed the Canon Digital IXUS 900 Ti camera. The 10 Megapixel Canon IXUS 900 Ti takes the attractive and comfortable feel of the "perpetual curve design" and for the first time ever, renders that body in strong and durable yet lightweight Titanium. With Canon's new Face Detection AF/AE technology (working in concert with Canon's 9-point Auto focus system), the Canon IXUS 900 can detect, lock on and track up to nine human faces in a scene simply by pressing the shutter button halfway. the Canon IXUS 900 also features a 2.5", 230,000-pixel, color TFT LCD screen with a wide viewing angle making images easier to preview and review.

 Canon IXUS 900Ti - Pixels
According to Mark Goldstein: "As expected from previous use of Canons, colours are naturalistic bordering on warm, especially when it comes to skin tones, which is no bad thing. And of course there's the added ability to adjust these in camera if so wished. If we're being picky there's some pixel fringing visible between areas of high contrast, but that again was expected. There's plenty of detail here, particularly visible when taking macro images. The Canon Digital IXUS 900 Ti made a decent fist of exposure, with metering being pretty spot on."

Canon Digital IXUS 900 Ti - Night photography
Mark continues: "The latter deliver acceptable results, though noise creeps in at ISO 800, and lends shots an Impressionistic feel at ISO 1600 (so steer clear). Selecting the ISO 3200 equivalent option in scene modes produces a less noisy image than ISO 1600, curiously, if only because a lot of detail is ‘smoothed out' to compensate. Summing up, there is little here to fault when it comes to image performance. Despite the lack of optical stabilization, I got surprisingly few blurred images, even when shooting at night." About PhotographyBLOG
Mark Goldstein started his very active website PhotographyBLOG in January 2003. At first the one and only purpose was to let this site function as one of those popular web logs with Photography as main topic. But as we all know Photography is a pretty big subject to publish about so Mark decided to focus on some hot key points like mentioning all new introductions, reviews, reports from events like PMA and Photokina, sharing some impressive and creative photos and Mark's sole perspective of his feeling about this fascinating world of Digital Imaging. Mark is based in the UK, but his eagle-eye focuses global.
