 Canon large format poster creation software : Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, announced the launch of a new large-format poster creation software, PosterArtist 2007, which allows anyone to create professional-looking, quality posters by following four easy steps. It includes a large selection of artwork templates and clip arts, and features user-friendly edit functions.Canon PosterArtist 2007 has an ambient light-adjustment function, based upon "Kyuanos", Canon’s next generation colour management technology. The ambient light-adjustment function minimises differences in the way colours appear due to the lighting conditions in which posters are displayed.

“During the printing stage, the ambient light-adjustment function takes into consideration the lighting conditions in which the poster will be viewed and adjusts the print accordingly. If you know that a poster looks reddish under incandescent lighting, or will appear blue under fluorescent light, then this advanced colour management technology will compensate for that.” said Paul Hinkins, European Marketing Manager LFP, Canon Europe. “We are very excited about the prospect of offering this software to support our large-format customers. Canon PosterArtist 2007 is an example of how Canon is bringing innovative products to the industry. Print is, typically, a transportable medium, but posters are the exception - they generally stay in a single location. That’s the reason why negating the affects of ambient light plays such a crucial role in poster colour fidelity,” added Hinkins.

AutoDesign also has been newly added to Canon PosterArtist 2007. It offers poster design templates that incorporate professional designers' know-how, and allows users to select from a menu of designs. Even with no experience of designing, anyone can make a high-grade poster with an appropriate colour scheme and layout. PosterArtist 2007 is aimed at the large-format, general use sector for use in the design of posters, banners and signage, for output on the imagePROGRAF family of large-format printers. The software, which has over 250 in-built poster templates, allows users to easily design, customise, edit and output professional posters, without professional editing software or design experience.
