FujifilmBest compact camera at TIPA awards : Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd, has received critical acclaim in Europe. Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) voted the FinePix Z5fd the 'Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera' at the TIPA Awards 2007 calling it a 'technological marvel'. This follows in the footsteps of the FinePix F30 - championed for its low light capabilities - which won the TIPA Best Compact Digital Camera 2006. The hotly contested TIPA awards are widely regarded as the European 'Oscars' of the photo and imaging industry. The FinePix Z5fd is the first of Fujifilm's 'Z' range series to feature Fujifilm's hardware-based Face Detection technology - which can detect faces and optimise exposure settings in an industry leading 0.05 seconds.

The stylish compact contains an impressive amount of technology in its tiny, chic shell including Fujifilm's unique 6.3 Megapixel Super CCD HR, RP Processor II, 3x optical zoom, ISO 1600, Intelligent Flash and new blog mode. Hayley Buery of Fujifilm says: "This is the second time in as many years that one of Fujifilm's digital compact cameras has won this coveted TIPA award. Hot on the heels of last year's award for the FinePix F30, the recognition of the FinePix Z5fd compact is further proof of the commitment Fujifilm makes to consumers by putting cutting edge technology in pocket-sized cameras, especially the stylish 'Z' range."

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd - Best compact camera
In a statement from the judges, explaining why they chose the FinePix Z5fd as Best Ultra Compact Digital Camera of 2007, they commented: "The Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd is a compact, technological marvel that combines elegant design with a host of practical features. On top of its Face Detection system, it offers a 6MP Super CCD HR sensor, a top sensitivity of 1600 ISO and an innovative "with and without flash" feature which shoots two pictures in quick succession and allows the user to choose the best. All the FinePix Z5fd's features are dedicated to producing the best possible result for the enthusiast, and to cap it all, this fast, responsive and easy-to-use ultra-compact is on sale at a very attractive price."

TIPA awards - Best photo & Imaging products
Juan M. Varela, TIPA Chairman, said: "An important goal of the association is to recognise and give due praise to the innovation, ingenuity and quality products and technologies of the companies present in the photo and imaging industry. We do this through the prestigious TIPA Annual Awards where all the members vote for the 'Best Photo and Imaging Products of the Year'. These are clearly established as the most coveted awards in the imaging industry." The Awards Ceremony will take place on 31st May 2007 at the Congress Center of the KölnMesse, Cologne.
