NewsFree HotSpot in Europe : free-hotspot, the world’s largest network of Free Internet HotSpots, announces that it has installed its 1,000th Free HotSpot in Europe. Dan Toomey, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, commented: “We are very pleased that free wireless Internet service is gaining momentum in Europe. We ended 2006 as the world’s largest network of Free hotspots with 600 locations. We now have more than 1,000 locations and are on pace to double that number by the end of the year. This is a testament not only to the strength of our business model but also to the overall demand for Free Wi-Fi in Europe.” Toomey added that free-hotspot is committed to expanding free wireless Internet service throughout Europe.

“We are now established in 16 EU countries, and this footprint is set to expand rapidly as we continue to work with our partners to bring free Wi-Fi to more and more locations across Europe. We hope to be providing free wireless Internet service in every EU country by the end of 2007,” he concluded. free-hotspot operates the world’s largest free wireless network, with HotSpots located in hotels, cafés, restaurants, pubs, petrol stations and other public venues.

To gain access to the free-hotspot’s free wireless Internet service, users agree to watch an advertisement. For this innovation, free-hotspot received the prestigious WBI (Wireless Broadband Innovation) Award for Best Public Wi-Fi Product 2006. The profitability of the company’s programme for HotSpot operators was also recognised when free-hotspot was named “Best Business Idea” for the hospitality industry at the 2006 FIZZZ Awards in Germany.
