We have considered every possible function and use of the imagePROGRAF iPF5100 and have not compromised on speed, functionality or image quality,” commented Paul Hinkins, LFP European Marketing Manager, Canon Europe. “It comes with Canon’s next generation colour management technology, Kyuanos, which has an ambient light-adjustment function that minimises differences in the way colours appear due to the different lighting conditions that posters are displayed in.” added Hinkins.

The 12-colour LUCIA ink system, including red, green, blue and two shades of grey, offers a wider colour gamut, which is well balanced with clear colours and smooth gradation. The Canon imagePROGRAF 5100 incorporates four new inks: black, matte black, grey and photo grey to further enhance print quality. The inks ensure less graininess, and reduce bronzing, which can be caused by diffused light reflection.
Canon imagePROGRAF calibration
The imagePROGRAF 5100 has a new colour calibration tool that adjusts colour differences caused by ageing, individual print heads, or between different printers, for more stable printing. Using a precise multi-sensor, accurate colour calibration (average delta E: 2.0 or less) is achieved in around 10 minutes.
Canon dual high-density print head system
The imagePROGRAF 5100 has a twin, high-density print head that improves print speed and durability, due to the 30,720 nozzles crammed into two 1” print heads. By incorporating FINE (Full - photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering) technology, 4-pl (picolitre) ink droplets ensure delicate colour gradation, high-definition and accuracy. The imagePROGRAF 5100’s L-COA processor performs the high-speed processing of 12-colour image data and simultaneously controls the operation of the printer and the dual high-density print head system.
Canon iPF5100 - A2 printer
The imagePROGRAF iPF5100 comes with a range of features to ensure that set-up and operation are as simple as possible. These include image input and selection with the imagePROGRAF Front-Access, which communicates with other applications, enhanced user support and a stronger link between driver/ software and manuals. Canon’s new high quality poster creating software, PosterArtist 2007, is available as an option.
