 Monaco gala event to celebrate Canon Europe anniversary : Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, celebrates its fiftieth anniversary with a stunning exhibition of its technologies for the office and the home in Monaco on May 7-8. The fiftieth anniversary celebrations will feature keynote speeches from Canon Europe President and CEO, Mr. Hajime Tsuruoka and Canon Inc. President and COO, Mr. Tsuneji Uchida. This will be Mr. Uchida’s inaugural address to European audiences since his appointment as President and COO in 2006. The Monaco gala event will also serve as the launch pad for a major new conservation project in partnership with Canon’s official conservation partner, World Wildlife Fund.

 Monaco Gala Event - Grimaldi Forum
As part of Canon’s continuing com-mitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, the entire event will also be certified ‘carbon neutral’ by the Climate Neutral Group. The fiftieth anniversary exhibition, which will be held at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, will display highlights from Canon’s 50 year history in Europe and showcase some of the cutting-edge technologies that will shape the company’s future across consumer, business, broadcast and medical sectors.
Canon Europe anniversary - We Speak Image
Canon’s consumer and business divisions will both launch new products during the exhibition, which is expected to receive over 6,000 visitors, including Canon partners, dealers, analysts, members of the media and Canon employees. The fiftieth anniversary celebrations will also include the unveiling of a major new pan-European brand campaign; ‘We Speak Image’, which will comprise outdoor, print and TV advertisements across several European countries. ‘We Speak Image’ aims to reposition the Canon brand as the natural choice for consumers and businesses looking to harness the power of the image. To support the launch of ‘We Speak Image’, renowned futurologist, James Bellini will present research on the evolution of the image as a means for global communication via the Internet. ‘We Speak Image’ reflects this change in the behaviour of consumers and businesses and places Canon as a leader in imaging technology and solutions.
Fiftieth anniversary for Canon Europe
Canon Europe’s President and CEO, Mr Hajime Tsuruoka said: “This event will mark Canon’s fiftieth anniversary in Europe with a celebration of our achievements so far, but more importantly, we will also present our strategy to build upon this success over the next fifty years and beyond. “The event gives us a strong platform to promote Canon’s corporate philosophy of Kyosei - ‘living and working together for the common good’. Canon will demonstrate its commitment to the principles of Kyosei by making this event carbon neutral and through the announcement of our new project with WWF which places Canon at the forefront of world class companies working to raise awareness of environmental issues.”
