Best computer magazine and website 2007 : At a ceremony held in Los Angeles last week, PC World was honored with six Maggie Awards by the Western Publications Association (WPA), including Best Computer/Consumer Magazine and Best Website/Consumer for PC World Online. Presented annually, the Maggie Awards recognize editorial, online, design, and promotional excellence. In August 2006, PC World Online underwent a top-to-bottom redesign, resulting in a dynamic new look with enhanced advertising opportunities, community offerings, and rearchitected back-end. Visitors found a cutting-edge information architecture that improved site navigation and made specific content easier to find.

PC World Tech - Business channel
“As you can see, these awards reflect everything we do-edit and design in both the online and print realms,” said Harry McCracken, Editor in Chief of PC World. “It’s particularly satisfying to win for best site after last year’s redesign made the site far more interactive for our online community.” The website continues to evolve to meet the needs of its audience and now includes a variety of videos, slideshows, user reviews, polls and the recently launched Tech Business channel offering solutions for productivity aimed at small to medium businesses. “PC World continues to set the precedent for editorial excellence in both print and online,” stated Colin Crawford, President & CEO of PC World Communications and Mac Publishing. “These awards are testament to the dedication and level of expertise of PC World’s editorial and design teams, making PC World the leading brand for readers and buyers seeking technology information.” Since 1996, PC World has won an impressive 36 Maggie Awards. This year, the WPA received 1,800 entries; 96 Maggies were presented at the 2007 awards banquet.
