FotoNationFotoNation appoints Fanning as managing director : FotoNation, a leading provider of embedded imaging and communications solutions for the digital camera industry, announced the appointment of Shane Fanning as Managing Director for FotoNation Ireland Ltd. and VP of FotoNation Inc. Reporting directly to Eran Steinberg, FotoNation CEO, Fanning will head both the Irish and Romanian operations. Fanning brings to FotoNation almost 20 years of experience in the software development and telecommunications industries. He will be responsible for maturing the company’s software development process and continuing FotoNation’s successful contributions of important industry-wide advancements of digital photography.

Commenting on his appointment, Fanning said, “I am delighted to be given this opportunity to expand and lead the operations side of the business. Prior to FotoNation, Fanning worked for Ericsson where he spent the past ten years in senior management roles in Sweden and Ireland. Among his roles at Ericsson included the management of a product unit with 150 employees in both countries. Prior to Ericsson, Fanning worked in the U.S. for 7 years in sales management and engineering roles with various companies, including Marconi Instruments. His qualifications include a degree in Electronic Engineering from Carlow Institute of Technology.
