Ricoh Caplio GX100 test photos : We have had the new Ricoh Caplio GX100 camera in the office for some days and visited the Keukenhof in Lisse, the Netherlands, to shoot some test images. The Ricoh GX100 was introduced in March 2007 and is like its predecessor - the Ricoh Caplio GX8 - an unique digital compact camera. The Ricoh Caplio GX100 is equipped with a ten Megapixel CCD image sensor, a f/2.5 bright zoom lens with a focal range of 24 - 70mm. Additional the beautiful wide-angle of 24mm can be expanded via the optional Ricoh DW-6 wide-angle converter. With it, it becomes a 19mm super wide-angle! Unfortunately this accessory was not available at this moment, but I expect to make some extra shots with such a combination very soon.

The Ricoh Caplio GX100 is a compact and thin digital camera when looking at its design. It is therefore that you take the camera easy with you without any hassle. Unique is the optional electronic viewfinder that can be attached on top of the Ricoh GX100 camera. This camera accessory was not available at the time I was shooting the test shots, but I expect to receive the optional Ricoh VF-1 viewfinder very soon. As soon as the Ricoh GX100 kit is complete, we will publish a full Ricoh Caplio GX100 review.

The Ricoh Caplio GX100 test photos are taken with a full test model and should be judged accordingly. The small images are reduced for easy viewing and compressed for faster loading. The larger images are the original, non edited images. The new Ricoh GX100 is one of those digital compact cameras that is on our list to be reviewed in the upcoming weeks. We are working on a couple of them right now and will bring you a full Ricoh Caplio GX100 review as soon as we are ready. In the meantime check our digital camera review section or use the digital imaging news feeder and the camera review news feeder to get the latest news update almost immediate.
