Photographers awards gala held in London theater : The Association of Photographers announce that their annual Awards are being held this year in a gala event at Sadler's Wells Theater, London. Around one thousand guests are expected to attend this leading showcase. The Gala evening includes a reception at which the Awards Exhibition of 350 selected images will be launched together with the Awards Book, followed by an on-stage presentation of the coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Awards fall into three main categories: AOP Photographers' Awards, open to members only; AOP Assistants' Awards, open to registered assistants only and AOP Document, the photojournalism category open to all photographers worldwide.

London theater tickets
More than 4,000 images are submitted annually and judged by a panel of 25 highly respected industry professionals, including photographers, photographers' agents, agency art directors and other commissioners from advertising, design and publications. Competition is tough, standards are high and Gold, Silver or Bronze awards highly sought after by photographers. All other tickets cost £45 plus vat for non-members, £25 plus vat for AOP members and £15 plus vat for AOP Assistant members (maximum two tickets per assistant). Tickets sales are now closed on the website but are still available tonight at the door.
Sadlers Theater Well
2006 AOP Bursary winner Spencer Murphy's work, entitled "Wastelands," will also be unveiled. The project tackles the problem of waste production and disposal in this country. The AOP Photographers' Awards were launched in 1983 and over the years have grown to become one of the highest accolades within the professional photographic industry.
