Green innovation award
“With four of Toshiba’s six US operating companies located in Orange County, and a belief in contributing to a sustainable world, Toshiba America, Inc. wants to recognize and promote innovative environmental activities by organizations and companies in the local community,” said Toru Uchiike, chairman and CEO, Toshiba America, Inc. “For over 130 years, from the era of mechanical devices to the launch of the first successful notebook PC, Toshiba has had a long-held commitment to innovation and the resulting benefits to society.” “Orange County is a thriving center for innovation,” said Ardelle St. George, OCI chair. “As the 14th largest producing county in the nation, equivalent to the 37th largest economy in the world - which means larger than Israel, Singapore or Chile - Orange County innovators have a responsibility to minimize the negative effects that our technologies and business operations may have on the environment. We are proud to partner with Toshiba to recognize local pioneers that demonstrate a commitment to environmental concerns through a unique product, process or dedication.”
