RitekRidata flash memory products : Advanced Media, manufacturer and marketer of the popular Ridata brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories, is launching a host of products to the photography market. The company is currently launching its Ridata high capacity SDHC cards, and SSD cards along with an innovative two port USB Hub drive. “With the growth in popularity of digital photography, we see a tremendous opportunity for our Ridata storage products and the need for the two-port Hub Drive,” commented Harvey Liu, Advanced Media president. “Our selection is growing rapidly and includes a number of innovative designs for a variety of application purposes.

Ridata’s uniquely designed Character USB Flash Drives with two additional USB ports allows virtually limitless multiple USB connections. Just plug together any combination of the whimsical Uniform, Book, Monkey, Elephant, and Puzzle shaped USB ports, and create additional USB ports for all your mobile devices. Together, the hubs allow users to choose compatible USB flash drives with different designs and colors. It features an advanced partition and security function so users can create password-protected sectors for the storage of highly confidential material.

Ridata SSD cards
A new addition to the Ridata product line is a non-volatile Flash Solid State Disk (SSD) storage card featuring 16 GB and 32GB capacities. Since it has no moving parts, the Ridata Flash SSD produces virtually no noise, no heat generation, and no vibration. Reliable temperature and humidity control assures long-lasting storage. It is engineered with semiconductor components and uses NAND flash memory. Importantly, it also has the same host interface as a hard disk drive, so there are no issues with compatibility or upgrading. It simply plugs into a device’s IDE slot. Ridata offers 1.8” and 2.5” module-type Flash SSD for an ATA/IDE interface and 2.5” for a SATA interface.

Ridata SDHC cards
SDHC is a new SD memory card based on the SDA 2.0 specification. This will enable SD cards to potentially reach capacities up to 32GB. Because SDHC works differently than previous SD cards, the new format is not backwards compatible with legacy SD-format host devices. SDHC cards only work with SDHC compatible host devices. Accompanying this new specification are three levels of speed classes to help identify the speed and performance of SDHC cards. These Speed Class Ratings specify a minimum sustained write speed of 2MB/s for Class 2; 4MB/s for Class 4; and 6MB/s for Class 6.
