FujifilmLondon Eye photo competition : The British Airways London Eye announces Fujifilm as sole sponsor of its online photography competition currently running as part of its 25 millionth visitor celebrations. As a result of Fujifilm’s sponsorship the winning photograph and selected runner up images will be exhibited on London’s South Bank, maximising exposure for the budding photographers and giving visitors to the area a unique new perspective on one of London’s most famous landmarks. As well as supporting the exhibition, Fujifilm will become an integral part of the entire campaign, sitting on the judging panel and providing prizes of FinePix A800 cameras to 11 regional winners and the class-leading FinePix S6500fd to the overall winner.

In addition, the ‘Fujifilm Young Photographer Award’ will recognise the best photo from an entrant under 16 years of age. The winner of this category will be awarded a FinePix S5700 digital camera, the latest in Fujifilm’s range of SLR-style super-zoom cameras. The overall winner will also see their photo on permanent display at the British Airways London Eye ticket office, inside County Hall and receive a year-long pass to all Tussauds Group attractions. Fujifilm’s sponsorship of the British Airways London Eye photography competition is the latest activity in a long-running association. It began when the attraction first opened in 2000 with Fujifilm as official photographic sponsor and the company remains exclusive photographic supplier today.

London Eye

Discover the world of London's 21st century landmark
The British Airways London Eye is the world's tallest observation wheel at 135m high. Located on the banks of the River Thames it offers unrivalled views over London. Since opening at the turn of the century, the London Eye has become an iconic landmark, with a status that can be compared to Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Eros and the Tower of London. It has been used as a backdrop in countless films and for innumerable TV programmes. A source of pride for the whole country as well as the capital, the London Eye is the most distinctive addition this century to the world's greatest city, loved by Britons and tourists alike.

The British Airways London Eye
In fact, in its short life, it has become the most popular paid for UK visitor attraction, visited by over 3.5 million people a year (an average of 10,000 a day). A breathtaking feat of design and engineering, passengers in the London Eye's capsules can see up to 40 kilometres in all directions, in complete comfort and safety. But there's much, much more to the London Eye than its views and its engineering. It plays an integral role in the community, has become something of a gateway or a symbol for London and offers a unique venue for corporate events and entertainment.
