CanonCanon at PMA 2007 : The Canon booth at the PMA 2007 Las Vegas is as always overwhelmingly large and outsized. The Canon digital imaging booth is overcrowded and people are fascinated by the large series of compact camera models and of course the new race-monster, the world's fastest digital SLR camera; the Canon EOS 1D Mark III. The year 2007 is a brilliant year for Canon. Not only because Canon has conquered and still holds an important market share but also because it is exactly seventy years ago that the first Canon camera was born. It was the Canon S and the first one in a long array of successful cameras. Also the step from analogue to digital was carried out incredibly fast and on a professional level.
Canon Digital Cameras
Although the digital camera was mainly considered a professional tool at first, very soon a digital camera was introduced that effortlessly found its way to the consumer. From then on there was no way of stopping the march and nowadays everyone is aware of the consequences it had for the current photo industry.

Canon Imaging Products
Besides their numerous image solutions, Canon know how to enchant the consumer by means of their lifestyle products. Canon never hesitate to point out design and lifestyle to the consumer and regularly spend a lot of time and money on various campaigns that are solemnly meant to show the consumer that a Canon camera is a daily need at any rate. Canon are definitely aware of fashions and trends; at least on the field of compact cameras.

Canon SLR Cameras
The digital SLR camera market is mainly dominated by Canon's SLR cameras but still Nikon are rebelling against their enduring rival. Sales figures coming from Japan show a clear number one for Canon, but this only applies to one model: the EOS 400D. The next three ranks are for Nikon with which Nikon prove that their current SLR camera line fits the consumer's needs in all respects. Therefore I am very curious to find out if Canon will keep up their successful march without fading. The consumers have very high expectations and it may be a job and a half to live up to these expectations time after time. Canon undoubtedly have more strings to their bow and will probably entertain lavishly this year! The year has only just begun and Canon have already showed what they are capable of with the introduction of their Canon EOS 1D Mark III.
