NikonNikon at PMA 2007 : Nikon always attract the attention; same thing happened at the PMA 2007 show in Las Vegas. Events like the Photo Marketing Association are excellent occasions for Nikon to show the consumer everything they have to offer. And it still impresses to witness the amount of lenses, equipment and other accessories available for Nikon's digital SLR and compact cameras. Whether it concerns standard photography or professional photography; Nikon offer the solution. Although many of us thought it was about time for Nikon to announce a new professional SLR camera; during the PMA 2007 emphasis had been placed on the Nikon Coolpix compact camera and a new digital SLR for the entry-level consumer.

The Nikon Coolpix series of cameras consist of the L-series and the stylish S-series cameras; amongst them the Nikon Coolpix S500 and the new Nikon Coolpix P5000. The latter is definitely a worthy Nikon compact camera including the typical camera features one would expect from a Nikon camera. The Nikon Coolpix S500 and the Nikon Coolpix P5000 cameras are the ones that give the Coolpix name its real Nikon brilliance.

Nikon Digital SLR Cameras
Besides a stack of compact cameras and just before the start of the PMA Nikon have introduced a new compact DSLR camera; the Nikon D40x. The Nikon D40x has been constructed on the successful formula that has initially been applied to the Nikon D40 camera. Keywords for the latter are compact, user-friendly and high quality and with the introduction of the Nikon D40x one can add: high resolution of 10 Megapixels, fast burst shooting function of 3 fps and low energy consumption.

Nikon at PMA 2007
Personally I expect Nikon to have a very successful year this year. The Nikon Coolpix series of cameras now has the chance to distinguish themselves from the mass by emphasizing the extremely intelligent and high quality software with which the models have been equipped. Besides that Nikon feature a series of digital SLR cameras in their assortment, among others the Nikon D40, D40X, D80 and D200 that are very attractive and are meeting the requirements of the amateur and semi-professional photographer. Even the professional photographer will recognize the ease of a Coolpix and appreciate a second SLR body.
