WD Passport simplifies the synchronization of essential personal files and Microsoft Outlook data on a PC making it easy for consumers to take desktop content with them. WD Sync software enables users to securely access, edit and share Microsoft Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, MP3 files, e-mails, attachments and more from anywhere - in a cybercafé, on a friend's laptop or in a colleague's office. And should owners misplace WD Passport, they know their data is protected with 128-bit encryption. Google software on the drive allows users to easily locate files with the Google Desktop Search search tool, manage photos with Picasa photo organizer software and simplify Web searches with the Google Toolbar search bar. WD Passport Portable Drives are equipped with a fast 5,400 RPM hard drive and a USB 2.0 interface.

WD Passport Portable Drives are a perfect users’ gadget, easily backing up content such as digital photos and music files from users’ PCs. The portable drives are powered by the USB bus so there is no need to carry a separate power adapter. An optional cable is available for the few systems that limit bus power. Combined with the easy-to-set-up, customizable WD Sync software, WD Passport is easy to use anywhere - simply plug in and store. “Digital content such as photos, videos and music, as well as documents for work, are emotionally and financially valuable to owners, and it is important that their content travels with them safely and conveniently,” said Jim Welsh, vice president and general manager of WD’s branded products group. “WD Passport enables consumers to carry their entire digital portfolio with them in a package small enough to slip into a small pocket. This is the ultimate storage device.”
