Swifti Micro photo kiosk : KIS Photo-Me Group introduced the Swifti - a versatile new “plug-n-play” micro-kiosk that lets consumers turn image files from digital cameras, cell phones, CDs/DVDs and 28 different types of media cards immediately, on-site into customized, high-margin photo keepsakes that translate into new revenues and a quick return-on-investment for the retailer. The Swifti is on display at the Photo Marketing Association trade show, March 8-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in the KIS Photo-Me Group Booth, C232. It’s an excellent product for non-photo businesses - such as vacation hotels, college bookstores, amusement parks, campgrounds, nightclubs, shopping malls, conventions centers and sports arenas.

Photo kiosk - KIS Photo-Me Swifti
“Swifti users can turn a picture they just took with their digital camera or cell phone into a 4x6 photo, post card, fun card, greeting card, calendar, themed image or other keepsake immediately rather than wait until they get home or to the photo retail store - and they’ll pay a premium for this instant gratification,” said Thierry Villard, President of KIS Photo-Me Group. “This original, useful, convenient service changes the way consumers think about photo fulfillment, and it represents a very profitable business with a quick ROI.” The Swifti is designed to accept virtually any type of consumer image file in virtually any format. It accepts 28 different memory cards (including cell phone mini-cards), and is equipped with a CD/DVD reader-burner, a USB port, a Bluetooth port and an Ethernet port.
Swifti photo kiosk - Touch screen
Instructions are provided and orders are taken via a large, intuitive touch-screen pad. Output is 4x6-inch images (other formats are available) printed on sturdy postcard paper from a professional-level dye sub thermal printer. Users can receive a standard 4x6-inch print in 14 seconds, as well as a variety of customized photo output - from postcards to themed images to greeting cards and other creative output. Users also can burn image files to a CD/DVD to free up storage room on their cameras or cell phones. The Swifti holds a paper roll good for 600 prints, so replenishment of consumables is infrequent, KIS Photo-Me Group said.
PMA 2007 - Swifti photo kiosk
The unit’s footprint is a bit larger than a standard sheet of letterhead paper. A Swifti can be loaded with templates and other digital image embellishments that reflect its particular environment - for example, of the university or tourist destination - and appeal to users in that location. User payment options will include credit card, coin, counter payment and prepaid card, the company said. The Swifti micro-kiosk is available for immediate delivery; orders are being taken at PMA Booth C232.
