LG Shine and LG Prada cellular phone : LG Electronics, a worldwide technology leader in mobile communications, introduced two premium handsets - the Shine Phone and Prada Phone by LG - and announced its business plan and strategy for the European market during its press conference at 3GSM World Congress 2007. “Our Black Label series was the first line under the company’s global platform strategy that helped set our products apart from our competitors,” Jae Bae, Executive Vice President of Overseas Sales & Marketing Division for LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company said at the conference. “With its touch keypad, the Chocolate Phone has created a new trend in design and its sales will exceed ten million units early this year.

“Our Shine Phone, the second handset in our Black Label series, and Prada Phone by LG, an artistic masterpiece made in cooperation with premium fashion house Prada, will continue to lead mobile trends with their style and features,” added Mr. Bae. “This will help LG reinforce its position as a leading mobile brand in the global market as well as the European market.”
LG 3G slim multimedia handsets
At today’s event, the company also announced its ambitious business plan and strategy for Europe. To consolidate its presence in the 3G market, LG is introducing feature-rich 3G products including the world’s first 3G UMTS (WCDMA)-based DVB-H phone, the LG-KU950, as well as the slim, multimedia 3G LG-KU250 handset. The LG-KU250, chosen for GSM Association’s “3G for All” campaign is especially important as a highly-capable but still cost-effective way to bring everyone closer to 3G technology.

Several key executives from LG Mobile Communications’ headquarters and Prada attended for the press conference including: Chang Ma, Vice President of Marketing Strategy Team; Dominique Oh, Vice President of Marketing Europe and CIS; Kang-Heui Cha, Executive Director of Mobile Communications Design R&D Lab; and Giacomo Ovidi, Group Business Development Director of Prada.
About LG Europe
In 2006, LG achieved a total sales volume of 8.7 million units in Europe. The company is targeting sales of more than 14 million units in Europe in 2007, which would mark a 60 percent increase over last year.
