As well as the increased sales of interchangeable lens, camera accessories, etc., in addition to that of digital single-lens reflex cameras. In the Optical Component Business, the sales of microlens and lens for surveillance cameras in the security field remained steady. As a result, the overall net sales amounted to 22,359 million yen (up 5.1% from the year-earlier period). The operating income amounted to 1,580 million yen (down 43.7% from the year-earlier period) because of an increase in the cost of sales ratio due to the impact of decreased unit prices of digital camera modules, though profits were improved thanks to the effect of reduction in production cost of microlenses and increased sales of lenses for surveillance cameras.
