SharpDealer meeting for Sharp MFP line : Sharp Document Solutions Company of America is debuting a new flagship production multifunctional peripheral (MFP) line, and highlighting the momentum of Sharp Open Systems Architecture, at the Sharp National Dealer Meeting, which kicked off today. Sharp is demonstrating how dealers can take “the open road,” creating their own destiny by becoming closer to their customers’ business through personalization of the multifunctional peripheral and its applications. “With the introduction of the new trio of production MFPs, Sharp now offers one of the most comprehensive product lines for dealers to meet any type of business need,” said Ed McLaughlin, President, SDSCA.

Ed McLaughlin added: “We are also taking this one step further by providing our dealers with a platform to solve business problems for their customers through the power of customization, enabled by our Open Systems Architecture. This program has become truly established in the marketplace and we’re continuing to add new developers for limitless applications.”

Sharp Open Systems Architecture
Sharp Open Systems Architecture, a gateway platform for seamless connection to network applications via the MFP, will be an important focus of the show, and of the coming year. OSA has grown significantly over the past year, supported by the enrollment of more than 70 developers in less than nine months, with plans to add more in the coming year. Sharp is also announcing the availability of the OSA Marketing Program, which provides OSA members with access to Sharp’s extensive distribution channel of dealers and direct customer base of government and corporate accounts. At Sharp’s National Dealer Meeting, developers will showcase how their software integrates with Sharp MFPs in a variety of vertical market applications, including financial, legal, and healthcare, as well as enterprise and small business environments.

Dealer meeting - Multifunctional peripheral
Sharp OSA allows for custom integration of the MFP interface for seamless access to a company’s networked applications. This allows businesses to use their MFPs to access enterprise applications, including document management applications, reporting functions and programs developed internally. In addition, Sharp OSA functionality can be deployed over the network for simplified integration. SDSCA is announcing the groundbreaking launch of three flagship production systems for the high-volume market, marking the company’s first entry into the segment. The new monochrome models (MX-M850, MX-M950 and MX-M1100) combine reliability, durability and enhanced performance, offering impressive print and copier speeds ranging from 85 to 110 PPM. Controlled by a large LCD display for ease of operation and viewing, these production-capable MFPs offer robust finishing options and can complete jobs quickly using Sharp’s Scan2 technology that minimizes paper handling while maximizing performance and providing faster scan speeds.

Sharp MX series
Built for heavy volume, the new MX Series models offer enhanced engineering features including a developer cooling system to help prevent excess heat buildup, a multi-feed detection sensor to detect misfeeds and a highly rigid frame for increased durability. Sharp is introducing a new B&W workgroup MFP series that, like its predecessor (the AR-M series), offers dual-scanning speeds that average 115 percent faster than competitive models and Sharp’s exclusive Scan2 Technology. These workgroup MFPs (models MX-M550/M620/M700) have printing and copying speeds of 55/62/70 ppm and support Sharp OSA. The units feature inbound routing for fax-to-email and scan to SMB that allows files to be scanned directly to network folders. Security has been enhanced with IPsec support for integration into higher security IT environments as well as SSL support, which provides encryption for highly confidential information to be more securely communicated over the Internet. The MFPs also feature a large 8.9-inch LCD touch screen interface for easy viewing and programming and a USB port for easy Firmware updates.

Dealer meeting for Sharp color MFPs
Adding impressive 50-PPM color speeds to Sharp’s extensive array of MFPs, Sharp is also previewing the new color MX-6201 and MX-7001. These new models will offer B&W copier speeds of 62 to 70 PPM with 50 PPM in color and will support Sharp OSA. The new models are based on Sharp’s award-winning MX Series design. The color MFPs can complete jobs quickly using Sharp’s Color Scan2 technology that minimizes paper handling while maximizing performance and providing faster scan speeds. To keep print and copy jobs processing efficiently, these networked MFPs have the highest on-line paper capacity in their class - up to 6,600 sheets - and a 150-sheet document feeder. These new MFPs enable users to print color or black and white files directly from a USB memory device, such as a thumb drive. Customers can also scan a document on the MFP and save it directly to a USB memory device in popular formats such as TIFF, JPEG, PDF and encrypted PDF.
