The Canon PowerShot A630 is equipped with Canon’s nine-point AiAF Smart auto focus system. The Canon A630 offers 21 shooting modes; the standard shooting modes are Full Auto, Program, Manual, Shutter-priority, and Aperture-priority. Additional modes include Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Special Scene (10 varieties), Stitch Assist and Movie. Two new shooting features for the PowerShot A630 are Safety Zoom and Digital Tele-converter. The Canon PowerShot A630 digital camera is also capable of recording VGA movies with sound at 30 frames per second.
Canon PowerShot A630 review at DigITCanon A630 camera - Features
According to Kai Thon: "The Canon PowerShot A630 is one of the best equipped compact cameras in its class, featuring a bright 4x zoom lens (35-140 mm f/2.8-4.1), a flexible 2.5-inch LCD screen, 8 Megapixel resolution and a wide variety of settings options, such as fully automatic, semi automatic and manual exposure and adjustable parameters for image processing. The Canon A630 compact camera also has an intelligent 9-points AF as well as manual focus with enlarged centre."

Canon PowerShot A630 digital camera - Picture quality
Kai Thon continues: "The Canon A630 delivers high image quality, but I miss RAW format since JPEG compression is quite high, even for Superfine quality. I also miss bracketing options, although its evaluating metering and white balance is very precise under all most lighting conditions. The Canon PowerShot A630 has a rather bulky design, but that's more an advantage than a drawback in my opinion as it makes the camera exceptionally user friendly."
