CanonAdopt a wild animal with Canon and WWF : Canon is helping to preserve endangered species through the launch of their Christmas promotion in aid of WWF - the global conservation organisation. From late October through to Christmas Eve, purchasers of selected PowerShot Digital Cameras or PowerShot/SELPHY promotional hard bundles will receive a WWF Retail Adoption Box worth £29.99 (€44.99). The Adoption Gift Boxes will give the purchasers a chance to adopt a wild animal (dolphin, tiger, panda or orang-utan) in its natural habitat FREE for one year. Each promotional box will include a soft toy, green tips booklet, facts on the wild animal they’re adopting, animal screensavers, greetings card and a photo of the animal they have adopted.

After the adoption is activated, the consumer will also receive an adoption certificate and quarterly news letter to keep them up-to-date on their animals’ progress. Alex O’Dell, Trade Marketing Manager, Canon UK, said "Not only can customers get the enjoyment of their adoption boxes, but also the knowledge that Canon will automatically make a donation to support the continuing work of WWF to protect endangered species and preserve endangered habitats upon purchase of these special boxes."

Canon & WWF - Environmental protection
Canon Europe has worked closely with WWF since the partnership began in 1998 and supports the organisation’s valuable work to tackle some of the biggest conservation challenges facing our world today. Canon’s environmental policy is closely tied to the philosophy of Kyosei - a spirit of co-operation in which individuals and organisations live and work for the common good. It is an ideal that can be seen at every stage in Canon’s business operations, from local environmental protection movements to research and development of products that minimise resource and energy consumption.

Canon supports World Wildlife Funds
A major element of Canon’s support to WWF has been to transform their photo library, making the images available electronically so they can be sent all over the world to publicise WWF’s projects. The partnership is not just limited to photographs - money from Canon is also used to fund projects across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.
