iLearning Software for iPods : A software application that adds more usability for Apple's iPod devices was released today by MediaClick Inc., a Naples, Florida company. PodCourses and PodQuizzes can be authored, packaged and sent to iPods using the software. The interactive courses begin with instructional content that can include links to active content such as video presentations. The instructional material is followed by a multiple-choice quiz that provides immediate feedback and a score. The iLearning possibilities extend beyond educational focused uses, explained Cox: "The program's functionality could be used to make full multimedia courses or simple T & F quizzes that advertisers could use to make you think about them."

PodCourses & PodQuizzes software
"We have a unique PodWare development product," said Steve Cox, MediaClick's President, "because Apple does not want to provide Software Development Kits for the iPod." The packaged PodCourses produced by the software use the iPod's support for basic HTML tags in the Notes Folder to power the interactive functionality. "The HTML programming is simple but gets very complex when our Active Maze file structure is added," Cox said. "We have made a development engine that enhances the capability of the HTML tags by introducing layers of If-Else-Then logic, but the user of the development software only needs to input text and make a few selections." A trial version is available and the website includes a public user forum where PodCourses can be posted for download to any iPod.
