Olympus FE190 review at Steves Digicams : Our good friends at Steves Digicams have published their review of the Olympus FE-190 digital compact camera. Equipped with a high quality 3x zoom lens and a 6.0 million pixel CCD, the tiny Olympus FE 190 camera possesses enough clout to deliver outstanding photos, even in large formats. At 18.5mm deep and exceptionally flat, the Olympus FE-190 takes up just the minimum of space, and is therefore the ideal go-anywhere camera. The Olympus TruePic TURBO processor ensures that these high resolution images are quickly processed with true-to-life results. Other useful functions include Super Macro, for taking close-ups from as little as 5cm away and Movie recording with sound.

Olympus FE-190 camera - Optical zoom
According to Steve Digicams: "The 3x optical zoom lens offers a typical focal range of approx. 38 - 114mm (in 35mm equivalent), and exhibited average amounts of barrel distortion at wide angle and pincushioning at telephoto as well as above average amounts of purple fringing (aka Chromatic Aberrations) in high contrast areas. The Digital Image stabilization mode will help you capture blur free images in marginal lighting conditions where you would normally use the flash."
Olympus FE190 review conclusion - Steves Digicams
Steve continues: "Movie mode was disappointing. You can capture video at either 320x240 (30fps) or 160x120 (15fps) with audio. Almost all consumer models these days feature a VGA (640x480) sized movie mode, with many now jumping into the XGA (1024x768) or Widescreen formats. Not only are the Olympus FE-190's movie clips small, they also show plenty of compression artifacts." You want to learn more about the Olympus digital camera?
