Audio-Video-SupplyFull frame cameras with FireWire connection : Audio Video Supply, Inc. has introduced its FWD line of progressive scan cameras, the first to utilize FireWire-B (IEEE-1394.b) technology, resulting in transfer rates of 800 Mbps or twice that of FireWire-A or USB 2.0 cameras. The Machine Vision market is expected to use the new technology to leverage speed into increases production. Firewire-A and USB 2.0 is the current standard for many OEM applications involving robotic vision, semiconductor inspection and assembly, microscopy and electronic surveillance. The FireWire-B enables the transfer rate of 800 Mbps. In addition to increasing transfer rates, FireWire-B enables the cameras to achieve imaging results with less signal distortion.

The FWD Series cameras are available in monochrome and color vision versions, extending the advantages of FireWire-B to almost any machine vision application. Many models deliver full-frame images up to 90 frames-per-second and resolutions ranging from VGA (640 x 480) to UXGA (1600 x 1200). Monochrome output can be set for 8 or 10 bit, while color output at either RGB 24 bit, YUV422 or YUV411. Camera CCD sizes are 1/3-inch, 1/2-inch, 1/1.8-inch or 2/3 inch. Performance features include full frame shutter , even at random trigger shutter operations, to provide vertical resolution without degradation; tetragonal lattice layout of CCD pixels to facilitate faster image processing; and built-in color process that provides Raw output, as well as RGB, YUV 4:2:2 and YUV 4:1:1 output modes. All cameras are RoHS compliant.
