Nikon Coolpix S7c review at PhotographyBLOG : DIWA member Mark Goldstein from PhotographyBLOG has reviewed the Nikon S7c digital camera. Combining 7.1 effective Megapixels of imaging performance with a 35-105mm (35mm equivalent) Zoom-Nikkor ED lens, the Nikon S7c camera can capture everything from wide-open landscapes to tight portraits. The Nikon Coolpix S7c offers e-VR and other Vibration Reduction capabilities that can compensate for camera shake and unsteady subjects to realize sharper, clearer results. The Nikon Coolpix S7c digital camera also features built-in IEEE 802.11b/g LAN support. It supports wireless image transfer that sends pictures to a computer on command, wireless shooting and wireless printing.

Nikon S7c camera - Image quality
According to Mark Goldstein: "The Nikon S7c produced images of above average quality during the review period. The 7 Megapixel images were a little soft straight out of the camera at the default sharpening setting and ideally require some further sharpening in an application like Adobe Photoshop. The Nikon Coolpix S7c dealt well with chromatic aberrations, with limited purple fringing appearing only in high contrast situations and at the edge of the frame."
Nikon Coolpix S7c digital camera - Vibration reduction and Lens
Mark continues: "The new Electronic Vibration Reduction mode allows you to take sharper photos at slower shutter speeds than normal, although it isn't quite as effective as a true optical-based system. The lens is perhaps the weak-point of this camera, displaying noticeable vignetting and softness at the 35mm wide-angle setting (which isn't really that wide)." About PhotographyBLOG
Mark Goldstein started his very active website PhotographyBLOG in January 2003. At first the one and only purpose was to let this site function as one of those popular web logs with Photography as main topic. But as we all know Photography is a pretty big subject to publish about so Mark decided to focus on some hot key points like mentioning all new introductions, reviews, reports from events like PMA and Photokina, sharing some impressive and creative photos and Mark's sole perspective of his feeling about this fascinating world of Digital Imaging. Mark is based in the UK, but his eagle-eye focuses global.
