Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd review at Photoxels

PhotoxelsFujifilm FinePix S6000fd review at Photoxels : DIWA member Yin Wong from Photoxels has reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd digital Megazoom camera. The Fujifilm S6000fd incorporates Fujifilm's 6th generation 6 Megapixel Super CCD and Real Photo Processor II, achieving ISO 3200 sensitivity at full resolution. Fujifilm's Face Detection technology means the Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd can identify up to ten faces in a frame and automatically optimize settings for perfectly sharp, natural looking people pictures. Wherever a face appears in the frame, irrespective of portrait or landscape composition, the Fujifilm S6500fd camera recognizes it as the primary subject. The Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd incorporates a Fujinon 28 - 300mm zoom lens.

According to Yin Wong: "The Fujifilm S6000fd can focus as close as 10 cm (3.9 in.) in Macro mode to and 1 cm (0.4 in.) in Super Macro mode. The subject in the above picture is, believe it or not, approx. 3 cm away from the camera. The wide-angle lens gives a wider than average coverage. AF locks precisely and fast, but requires the AF-assist in low-light. The AF Area can be manually moved to any of (7 x 7 =) 49 areas. [Press the One-Touch AF button and use the Arrow keys to select an AF area.]"

Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd digital camera - Sensitivity
Yin Wong continues: "The Fujifilm S6000fd has 6 ISO settings going from ISO 100 to ISO 3200. The 100% crops above (area delimited by the white square) demonstrate the noise at the available ISO Speeds. At ISO 100, 200 and 400, noise is low and under control. Noise starts to be slightly visible at ISO 800 but is still very usable. At higher ISOs (1600 and 3200), noise is very apparent. Fujifilm's low noise image sensor once again shines, putting to shame cameras costing many times more." You want to learn more about the Fujifilm FinePix camera? About Photoxels
Photoxels was founded in 2002 by MyKhanh Wong (Owner, Editor) and Yin Wong (Contributing Editor), the editors behind Photoxels. In 2001, we went on the Web to learn about digital cameras like everyone else. But it seems that the more we read about digital cameras, the more reviews we scrutinized, and the more we searched... the more confused we became. If we were somewhat confused about which digital cameras to buy before visiting the digital camera review sites, we became even more confused after reading most of the (very) technical reviews. Slowly, one article and one review at a time, we pieced together what were really important to know about digital cameras and clarified many of the digital photography-related terminology. We decided to share what we learned on the Internet, and Photoxels was born.
