Konica Minolta color laser printer award : Konica Minolta Printing solution announced that two of the company's color laser printers have received Buyers Laboratory Inc.'s (BLI's) Fall 2006 "Pick of the Year" awards. The magicolor 7450, on the heels of another industry award win, was selected in the mid-size workgroup color category while the new magicolor 2550 DN was named BLI's small workgroup multi-pass color printer "Pick." Over the past six months, Buyers Laboratory has put multiple printers from several manufacturers through a demanding evaluation process. Both the Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 and magicolor 2550 DN completed the rigorous testing with flying colors, receiving a "highly recommended" nomination.

Konica Minolta 7450 - Design
The magicolor 7450, designed with powerful performance and excellent quality, was an "outstanding performer in the ledger-size category" and Buyers Lab's clear winner. Tony Maceri, BLI senior test technician, noted that the magicolor 7450 exhibited above-average efficiency and faster than average first-print-out times during BLI's extensive testing. Buyers Lab selected one of Konica Minolta's newest color laser printers, the magicolor 2550 DN, a "Pick" winner partially because of its low-price/high-value package.
Konica Minolta 2550 laser printer - Software
BLI Senior Test Engineer Paul DePaolo noted "What's really nice about the magicolor 2550 DN is that for a very low price, you get automatic duplexing and a standard PostScript driver; this is important because PostScript is the industry standard for color printing and provides better color output than a GDI driver."
