Panasonic LX2 camera - RAW format
According to Yin Wong: "The Panasonic LX2 camera has 5 ISO settings going from ISO 100 to ISO 1600. At ISO 100, noise is under control. Noise starts to be present at ISO 200 but is usable. At higher ISOs, noise is visibly present with loss of image detail. There is chromatic aberration in high-contrast shots. The Panasonic LX2 allows you to save an image in the RAW file format. It takes about 5 sec. to write a RAW image to memory card (I used a regular 1GB CF card).
Panasonic Lumix LX2 digital camera - Auto focus
Yin Wong continues: "I love the joystick idea but find it a bit tricky when trying to engage AF AREA: after I've highlighted AF AREA, I press the joystick and 2 times out of 3, I get a different option instead of the 9 AF AREAS displaying on screen. Perhaps, it's just a matter of practice, but I suggest you give the joystick a try before purchasing. Besides AF AREA, you use the joystick as a FUNCTION button to set Metering mode, WB, ISO, Picture Size, and Quality (incl. RAW)." You want to learn more about the Panasonic Lumix camera? About Photoxels
Photoxels was founded in 2002 by MyKhanh Wong (Owner, Editor) and Yin Wong (Contributing Editor), the editors behind Photoxels. In 2001, we went on the Web to learn about digital cameras like everyone else. But it seems that the more we read about digital cameras, the more reviews we scrutinized, and the more we searched... the more confused we became. If we were somewhat confused about which digital cameras to buy before visiting the digital camera review sites, we became even more confused after reading most of the (very) technical reviews. Slowly, one article and one review at a time, we pieced together what were really important to know about digital cameras and clarified many of the digital photography-related terminology. We decided to share what we learned on the Internet, and Photoxels was born.
