Online framed photo prints at myPhotopipe : myPhotopipe announced the launch of an all-new line of frames under the brand name of Cottage & Classic frames. The Cottage & Classic frames come in a variety finishes and hold six different picture sizes. The frames are unique because they are fully finished. They include professional touches such as heat mounting of the photo print, and, pressure sealing the frames back. myPhotopipe also launched a Internet tool that allows a customer to "see" their photo inside a frame before ordering. This digital preview feature is included in the company's free software download. "When we planned this product we decided to address two deficiencies in the marketplace," said President Pete Casabonne.

"The first was self-assembly. Most of our online competitors sell wall frames like you'd buy them at a Hallmark store - disassembled. That's fine for some people but a little sloppy for our customers because the photos are not mounted and you can't seal the frame. Our product includes a mounted print placed inside a fully assembled frame that's sealed with heat activated tape in the back and is ready to be hung. The second deficiency was the online ordering environment. No one's done this before so we knew we needed a tool that let a customer place a photograph in a frame and preview it before they bought it. People love this feature."

The Cottage and Classic line starts at $34.95 which includes the print and the frame, a price point that's competitive with sites that sell empty frames. "Most photo sites are oriented towards the moms-and-memories segment. They sell snapshots and photo imprintable gifts and they resell things like frames-in-a-box," said CEO L. Douglas Keeney. "We're not a web site for people who want to put Billy on a refrigerator magnet. We are a web site for people who want an outrageously beautiful print from a digital photo so we stay focused on our mission, which is the print. Our frames have the same focus. We wanted frames that romanced the print, that brought out the best in the photograph. To do that we had to change the whole system, not just ship another frame-in-a-box. The product looks like a million dollars, we're competitively priced and we still have excellent margins."
