SonySony UPX-C100 professional print system : Sony launched the UPX-C100, a professional digital printing system for retailers that want to enter the profitable passport/ID photo market without an excessive up-front cost. This latest addition to Sony’s ID photo solution line-up which already includes the Sony UPX-C200, underlines Sony’s commitment to providing businesses with simple and effective solutions for entering the ID photo business. The Sony UPX-C100 print system consists of a digital photo printer that reproduces photo-quality prints and a digital still camera, which connect to each other via a USB cable. The Sony UPX-C100 professional print system will be available from October 2006.

High quality, versatile and simple to use
The Sony UPX-C100 produces sharp, high-resolution, 5 megapixel, images of exceptional quality on three separately sized print media1 allowing users to create various types of printout, including a combination of 30 different picture sizes. It incorporates modern instant printing technology, dye sublimation, to produce photo-quality prints that offer crisp and vibrant colours with natural, continuous tones.

From image-capture to printing, the UPX-C100 is simple to operate. All functions – including image size adjustments - can be performed easily from the digital still camera. The camera’s 1 90 x 101 mm (3.5 x 4 inches), 101 x 141 mm (4 x 5 5/8 inches), and 101 x 152 mm (4 x 6 inches). Auto Review function allows the operator to review the captured image while in Camera Mode. This innovative feature saves time because, unlike most other digital systems, users do not have to switch from Camera Mode to Play Mode to review and print photos.

In addition to offering four preset frame sizes to choose from, the Sony C100 system can adjust the position of the head and chin lines, as well as the right and left lines, to create a customized frame. Using the colour-guide function, the UPX-C100 allows the operator to make hue, contrast, and tone adjustments easily to enhance image quality.
