MicrodiaMicrodia XtraPro II flash cards : To meet the demand for faster speeds and increased memory capacities for high performance photographic applications, Microdia, a manufacturer in advanced digital media technologies, announced a new line of flash memory cards, XtraPro II, to its series of NAND Flash-based cards for professional digital photographers. With breakthrough speeds of 300X and capable of achieving maximum read/write speeds of 45.0 megabytes (MB) / second, Microdia XtraPro II cards provides the world’s fastest flash memory technology to date. Microdia’s professional XtraPro II series includes a wide variety of flash memory cards and capacities, all with maximum speeds of 45.0MB/sec and capacities from 1MB to 16.0GB.

Developed by Microdia, the new XtraPro II series offer high-speed, high-capacity storage cards targeted to professional photographers for use with Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras, as well as other high performance applications such as MP3 music players, PDAs and other digital devices using flash memory cards. Microdia’s leading technology successfully combines high speed, high capacity and high durability into one single product in order to fulfill the demanding performance needs of fast-paced applications such as continuous burst and photojournalism.

Microdia NAND Flash technology
Microdia’s ultra high speed XtraPro II cards are based on Single Level Cell (SLC) NAND Flash technology, which stores one bit per cell, and utilize an optimized controller combined with large block NAND technology to achieve high data transfer rates. Compared to Multi Level Cell (MLC) NAND Flash technology, which allows each memory cell to store two bits of information, SLC NAND Flash technology provides excellent performance well suited for professional use especially those with demanding speed requirements.

Microdia solid state storage cards
The new XtraPro II series, along with Microdia’s other product families including XTRA, XTRAPlus, and XtraPro complement Microdia’s comprehensive series of solid state storage cards that include Compact Flash, SDHC, SD, SD+USB, miniSD, microSD, MMCplus, MMCmobile and MMCmicro form factors.

Shooting RAW photos
“The new XtraPro II series gives professional photographers exactly what they need in terms of speed and capacity,” said Louis Leung, Executive Vice President at Microdia. “The latest high-end DSLR cameras have a continuous burst function to capture several frames per second, but limitations from the flash memory card can severely reduce this performance. With XtraPro II’s ultra-fast read/write speeds, photographers can take full advantage of their camera’s capabilities and store more RAW photos within fractions of a second.”

Microdia flash memory cards
Microdia offers a full range of Flash Memory Solutions that include CF, SD, SDHC, miniSD, microSD, U-SD, MMC, MMCplus, MMCmobile, RS-MMC and MMCmicro, all of which provide the World’s Highest Speed, Compatibility, Reliability and Capacity.
