SanyoSanyo and Qwest support Breast Cancer Foundation : In the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Qwest and Sanyo announced today that they have extended support to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation through the proceeds from sales of Qwest Communications International Inc. and Sanyo pink wireless phones. The program, which began in June and was to end October 31, has been extended through December 31, 2006, and now includes three pink phones. Ten percent of all retail sales of the pink phones through December 31 will be donated to the Komen Foundation with an extended maximum donation of $150,000. Three pink phones by Qwest and Sanyo are now available at all 100 Qwest retail locations in Qwest's 14-state service area.

In addition to Qwest retail locations, the new phones will be sold through Qwest's call centers and online at the Qwest website. "October is an important month for raising awareness and funds to help fight breast cancer," said Teresa Taylor, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Qwest. "In light of our ongoing commitment to the Komen Foundation and finding a cure for breast cancer, along with the overwhelming response we've had to our pink phones, Qwest will strengthen its commitment to the Komen Foundation through the extension of this campaign."

Sanyo and Qwest Support Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
"In June, Sanyo and Qwest came together with an innovative way to offer support for the Komen Foundation. The public's response has prompted us to increase our pledge to the Komen Foundation to help in the fight against breast cancer and raise awareness among Qwest's customers, while offering them the means to stay in touch with families, friends, and business through the use of the pink Sanyo phones," said Andy Kodera, senior vice president and general manager of Sanyo Fisher Company's Wireless Communications Division.

About the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1982 by Nancy Brinker to honor the memory of her sister, Susan G. Komen, who died from breast cancer at the age of 36. Today, the Foundation is an international organization with a network of more than 75,000 volunteers working through local affiliates and events like the Komen Race for the Cure to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. A global leader in the fight against breast cancer, the Foundation fulfills its mission through support of innovative breast cancer research giants, meritorious awards and educational, scientific and community outreach programs around the world.
