 Pentax booth at Photokina : The Pentax booth also got quite a lot of attention, most of it for one product; the new Pentax K10D digital SLR camera. The Pentax K10D, featuring ten Megapixel CCD, anti-dust and image stabilization, is a very interesting digital SLR camera that will need to compete against other ten Megapixel DSLR cameras from brands like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Samsung and Olympus for a share of the market. A lot of consumers were eager to touch and try the new K10D themselves and we heard a lot of positive reactions about the operation and build of the camera.

 Pentax 645 medium format
Pentax showed their 645 Digital medium format camera, displayed in splendid isolation behind glass. To be honest it may take a while before we finally may see a final production model. We saw the same model at the last PMA and this showcased model doesn’t look much different, so…. when and where Pentax?
Pentax booth - Digital camera concepts
In one corner of the Pentax booth there were a dozen showcased digital camera concepts. It was very interesting to see Pentax studies of concepts that used to be way ahead of their time on the market. Some of those concepts never made it to the real world; others like the new Optio T-series, appeared in a different housing, but with the same basic idea.
