Canon booth at Photokina : It was practically impossible to avoid the booth that Canon had allocated themselves. The enormous range of products that Canon had introduced to the public this year and just before the Photokina, were presented against a brightly coloured red and white background. One of the magnets was the Canon EOS 400D, the successor to the highly successful EOS 350D as well as being Canon’s debut on the 10 Megapixel segment. The Canon 400D must compete against an army of 10 Megapixel DSLR cameras and although you could normally bet your life on Canon taking a large share of the market, things may be different this year. The competition is also churning out winners and the Nikon D80 and Pentax K10D in particular will be able to give Canon a good run for its money and maybe even make a dent in Canon’s DSLR supremacy.

Canon Photokina booth - EOS 400D
If the EOS 400D doesn’t go according to plan, which looks like a dream at the moment, Canon can always fall back on its PowerShot and IXUS models. The IXUS is just about Canon’s most successful camera; more than 33 million IXUS cameras have been sold. The new Canon Digital IXUS 850 IS, a completely dismantled version of which was on display, is accompanied by two other IXUS cameras. The Canon Digital IXUS 900 Ti and the Canon Digital IXUS i7 supplement the newest Digital IXUS assortment.
Canon booth - Scanners, Printers and Accessories
Canon has more to offer than just cameras. For example, it has a large assortment of scanners and printers, plus digital camera accessories, such as lenses in all sorts and sizes. The Canon stand was extremely busy and if the number of visitors is anything to go by, the coming season is going to be a success for Canon.
