CanonCanon USA partners with Arizona State University : Canon USA and Arizona State University, one of the premier metropolitan public research universities in the nation, announced a long-term partnership to build a world-class “Sustainable Digital University” at Arizona State University. The partnership between Canon USA and the Arizona State University, will enable the Arizona State to transform into a high Sustainable Digital University using Canon digital technology, while allowing the Arizona State University to create a new university standard for digital document management and handling, and ensure their continued national leadership role in sustainable research, education and solutions.

World of digital technology
“Arizona State University is poised to enter a new world of digital technology,” said Adrian Sannier, vice president and chief technology officer, Arizona State University. “This partnership is a unique opportunity to create a sustainable digital environment that effectively facilitates the creation and use of knowledge and capitalize on the power of information technology to meet the educational and business needs of today and tomorrow.”

Canon imageRUNNER
Canon will initially assist Arizona State in deploying a digital print management program across its campuses, and improve the institution’s existing copy centers with Canon’s award-winning imageRUNNER line of copiers and multifunction products. Canon will also open a digital showroom on the Tempe campus; sponsor relevant student activities; and work with Arizona State University to identify cooperative research projects, as appropriate, for future consideration; as well as use Arizona State as a test laboratory for new Canon digital technologies.

Assocation for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education
Canon is a primary sponsor of Arizona State University’s conference on The Role of Higher Education in Creating a Sustainable World. Arizona State University, in conjunction with The Assocation for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), is hosting this year’s event. The goal of the conference is to expose the Arizona State University community and AASHE attendees to vendors, programs and resources that will assist them in their sustainability initiatives.
