“GMC is playing a key role in upgrading our document composition capabilities,“ said Barton & Cooney CFO Christopher Klitus. “We are using their PrintNet software to improve turn-around time on critical customer marketing campaigns by speeding up document design and modification. In the future, we see our customers adopting full color digital for their transactional print and direct mail communications, and we consider GMC a significant partner in offering these services.“ An extensive, methodical search process involved evaluation of about 20 potential vendors. “We felt that GMC offered the best fit for our business requirements,“ explained Dennis Cramer, Director of Technical Support for Barton & Cooney. “We found that most packages provide a solution for either direct mail or for transactional applications, but PrintNet was one of the few that offered a complete solution for both applications, and it had the greatest value of the higher end packages.”

PrintNet print applications
Cut-sheet and roll-fed printers provide capacity for 30 million images per month at Barton & Cooney, and PrintNet will be used to drive the majority of these applications. “We also plan to use PrintNet to repurpose our legacy transactional print applications to create more relevant communications and streamline processing,” Klitus stated. “We’ll redesign statements to add marketing messages, personalization and graphics, and we can support full-color, highly personalized direct mail for our existing and potential customers. With the additional capabilities gained from PrintNet, we fully expect to capture some important new business opportunities.”

Barton & Cooney - PrintNet & GUI interface
The graphics staff at Barton & Cooney will be one of the groups that will most benefit from use of the software. “They now have a more powerful tool that will open up more options for our customers’ applications,” Klitus noted. “PrintNet’s ease of use and GUI interface will improve quality control and speed job development, but also will enable us to streamline statement and invoice production workflow.” “Barton & Cooney has an outstanding reputation, and we are very pleased that they have chosen PrintNet to help take their customers’ critical business documents to a new level,” stated Dr. René Müller, CEO of GMC Software Technology. “As a result, we are confident that Barton & Cooney can deliver results that will help their clients’ bottom line.“
