KIS Rechargink inkjet cartridge refill system : KIS/Photo-Me group today introduced an innovative new inkjet cartridge refill system that allows customers to walk up and replenish the ink in their existing inkjet printer cartridges rather than throw them away and purchase new ones. The “eco-friendly,” revenue-generating Rechargink system is on display this week at the photokina trade show in the company’s exhibit booth (Hall 10.2, Stand A-050 - C-059). The Rechargink system - a good fit for computer, office supply, quick-print and stationery stores as well as photo retailers - not only spares the environment the burden of absorbing numerous discarded inkjet cartridges, but helps customers reduce their consumables costs.

KIS Rechargink system
According to KIS/ Photo-Me, it sends the customer away with a fully functional, fully replenished cartridge for about half the cost of a new one. It also creates a high-margin revenue stream for the store owner, and an opportunity for repeat business. "Worldwide, millions of inkjet printer cartridges will be used - and thrown away - in 2006 by businesses and consumers. Not only does that figure represent a tremendous potential strain on the environment; it represents a tremendous business opportunity," said Thierry Villard, President of KIS/Photo-Me. "Our Rechargink system helps users do well by doing good. It is a very profitable service that builds long-lasting customer relationships as well."

The replenishment process is simple, self-contained and completely automatic, the company said. The Rechargink unit features 10 replenishment stations, each of which dispenses a particular replacement ink through a refilling system that is designed to accommodate cartridges from specific manufacturers. Also, store owners receive system training and a “hot line” phone number to call for trouble-shooting or maintenance. KIS/Photo-Me provides materials and advice for the store owner to initiate a promotional campaign that is very effective in generating interest in the service, the company said.
KIS Rechargink - Refill a used cartridge in a few minutes
"It takes only five minutes or less to refill a used cartridge, and the result is high-quality printing that in no way differs from the quality of printing from a brand new cartridge," Villard said. "The savings to the customer, the incremental income to the store owner and the positive effect on the environment make the Rechargink system a win-win proposition." The new Rechargink inkjet cartridge replenishment system is available now.
