 Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 scanner : Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today announced that it will showcase the new enhanced model of its award-winning Fujitsu ScanSnap scanning solution, the ScanSnap S500, at Wired Magazine's annual Wired NextFest conference, Sept. 29 - Oct 1, 2006, in New York City. The event features innovations in communication, design, entertainment, exploration, health, transportation, security, and green living. The Fujitsu ScanSnap S500 is a double-sided color scanner that scans at speeds of up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) for single-sided documents and 36 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents.

 Abbyy FineReader - OCR software
For the first time, the new ScanSnap scanning solution comes bundled with Abbyy FineReader for ScanSnap, a custom-built Optical Character Recog-nition (OCR) software application based on Abbyy's award-winning recognition technology. Using Abbyy FineReader for ScanSnap, users can convert documents into editable formats such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint, or save into one of three searchable Portable Document File (PDF) options, all with a push of a button.
