Printing solution discussion at Photokina 2006 : Which of the innovative products will make a real impact on the market? What is the best way to print images digitally? And how can they be marketed successfully? These and other questions will be the focus of a discussion forum featuring expert participants: “The digital printing markets of tomorrow,” which will be held on September 27, 2006, during the world’s leading imaging trade fair Photokina. The expert participants / Winfried Gaber, Managing Director, infowerk AG, Nuremberg; Peter Sommer, Managing Partner, Sommer Corporate Media, Waiblingen; and Christoph Deutsch, SDV, Die Medien AG, Dresden / will be on hand to address current issues and discuss modern digital printing.

Photokina 2006 Imaging trade fair
Digital printing is a tremendously important element in the production of all kinds of communication media. Its spectrum of potential uses is enormous, ranging from large-format prints to books, brochures and personalized mail shots printed by the million. This efficiency and flexibility is thanks to innovative technology that has been advancing rapidly in recent years, especially in digital printing. As a business with remarkable growth potential, digital printing is a strategically important sector for the graphics industry / a sector which also continues to be an important focus of photokina after many years.
Imaging trade fair - Panel Paricipants
The panel discussion will focus on the questions of whether digital printing has sparked a comeback for photo albums, how a successful Internet printer works, and what the future holds for the linking of mobile services and digital printing applications. The panel participants will also discuss innovative products using digital consumer photographs and address the question of how the growth market for dialogue marketing and direct marketing will effect the sector.

Koelnmesse and the Deutsche Drucker Verlagsgesellschaft cooperated to organize the discussion forum in order to give all photokina trade visitors and printing industry managers and executives a chance to directly engage in dialogue with representatives of three top companies, to learn about their entrepreneurial visions, and to gain a wealth of overall knowledge acquired from everyday practice. The panel discussion will be chaired by Bernhard Niemela, Editor in Chief and Deputy Chairman of the Deutsche Drucker Verlagsgesellschaft.
